Annie Yim
Born in Hong Kong, Annie gave her debut recital at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporations Radio in 2001, winning the CBC Debut Competition. In 2000 Annie made her Concerto debut in Vancouver playing Beethoven Concerto in G major.
A prizewinner in the Christopher Duke Piano Recital Competition, and the Friends of Chamber Music Competition, Annie has performed in such venues as the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (Vancouver), the Royal Opera House - Linbury Studio, St. James's Piccadilly, and San Antonio Church (Rome). She is selected as a 2008 Concordia Artist which results in concert engagements in London venues including St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. James's Piccadilly, and National Portrait Gallery. Future festival appearances include Gaia International Music Festival (Portugal), Violins Days in Calcinaia (Italy), and Chelsea Schubert Festival 2008.
Annie's major teachers are Robert Silverman (University of British Columbia), Joan Havill (Guildhall School of Music) and Jeremy Siepmann (International Piano Academy Lake Como). She is grateful for the generous support from British Columbia Arts Council, Vancouver Foundation and Concordia Foundation .
