All Saints Church lies within the parish of Charlbury, in the tiny agricultural hamlet of Shorthampton. The building dates back to the 12th century and is still in regular use for worship. Walkers on the Oxfordshire Way are glad to drop in to rest and absorb the prayerful and peaceful atmosphere. The fabric of the building has recently been extensively - and expensively - restored, for which the Friends of Shorthampton have raised many thousands of pounds through different events and trusts. The medieval wall paintings are to be restored, after a period of monitoring the moisture in the building. A guide book, postcards and other items are available for sale in the church.
