Location
From Oxford:
From Oxford follow signs for the A44 to Woodstock. Drive straight through Woodstock on the A44 and continue on for another six miles or so. (Very soon after Woodstock there is a Shell garage, shortly after which there is a left hand turn signed for Charlbury. Don't take this turning).
You will eventually come to the outskirts of the village of Enstone at which there is another garage (Texaco) immediately after which is another left hand turn signed again for Charlbury. You do want to turn left here. Follow this road for approximately 2 miles which brings you directly in to Charlbury. Continue on this road as you enter Charlbury. Head past a cross roads and on, slightly downhill until you see the Coop supermarket on your right hand side. There is also a sign here for the Spendlove Centre and this is the best place to park (turning right into the car park). There is a relatively small amount of on-street parking available in Charlbury and the train station car park is also only a short walk (although uphill) to the church.
From the Spendlove Centre/Coop car park, you continue down hill to the cross roads in the centre of Charlbury and carry on straight ahead, downhill past the Bell pub on your left, down the main street at the end of which is St Mary’s Church.
From Chipping Norton:
From Chipping Norton head out on the A361 towards Burford but as soon as you reach the outskirts of Chipping Norton take a left fork on the B4026 signed for Charlbury (the A361 bends right). Follow this as it winds through the countryside for approximately two miles until you come to the village of Spelsbury. Carry straight through Spelsbury following signs for Charlbury. The approach to Charlbury is up a short steep hill at the top of which take the first left turn signed for Witney and following this until you come to a cross roads where you turn right.
